Anyone can grow a potato. Most people with lawns mow a lot of greens like wild chives, dandelion leaves (to die for with a bit of lemon), lamb's quarters, etc. It's a matter of educating yourself, one plant at a time. A single French deep bed can grow a tremendous amount of food--plant something all over it and you won't even have to weed. Goat's milk can be turned into panir--cheese--which is a source of concentrated protein. The goat will do your mowing for you. Think about your grand- or great-grandparents. You can grow your own wheat and mill it in minutes. This is not rocket science. You need some seeds, a container, some clean dirt, access to an herbivore's shit (chicken is good though it's "hot" so it has to age a month or so). We already know all this. Think about the generations that lived before the advent of electricity. Electricity has made us lazy and stupid.

All good points, yet most people will never do any of this and will opt for UBI and rations instead.

Think about how much trouble one could cause or how much they could create if they didn't need to work for a living. $1000 a month is not going to be sufficient to feed oneself if we do not stop these idiot "wars", not if you buy all your food and energy.
