The US government is not in diplomatic negotiations with the Iranian people, not today, not these whole past 47 years. It’s in negotiations with the Iranian government.

Anyway, here in Japan it’s even more ambiguous. They don’t even have direct translations for ‘yes’ & ‘no’ 😂 Instead, it’s **all** context & culture 😂

… Actions speak louder than words, here in Japan too.

Excellent story… I have watched numerous videos of people exploring in Iran and it appears delightful…

I've gained a new understanding of the problem with your insight. Donald Trump and Co. wouldn't have a chance communicating with these people. Great post!

I have Farsi relatives by marriage, they are absolutely charming people.

Soo interesting. It must be hard to get anything done in a timeous manner. It would have an impact on the standard of living?

It was frustrating from a Western perspective, but I think they had a different approach to time so it didn’t seem to be a problem locally

In those days were they teaching school children to hate Americans and Jews? Were they teaching children in school chant, “Death to America”?

There is a Jewish population in Iran… along with a large Christian population.

Good story and insights . I remember Anthony Bourdain saying Iran was the friendliest place he had ever been too.
