Instead, taking a cue from world history (Roman Empire, British Empire), I reasoned that sometimes, **sometimes**, not typically but sometimes life is better (for us non-millionaire workin’ stiffs) on the periphery of a great empire than back home in the motherland. So, in 2015 I suggested to my wife that we move the family (5 kids) to her native Tokyo-metro to take a chance on self-employment.
So far, so good; maybe even all’s well that ends well.
In conclusion, yes I agree with the author(s): the US Empire is hollowed out back home in the motherland. It’s a deck of cards built upon a foundation of sand. It’s ready for the slowly-then-all-at-once.
That said, in just nine months Trump has already shored up the US Empire abroad, beyond anyone’s expectations, plus there’s every indication that his foreign policy will continue to beat back the US ‘Uniparty’ + Euro monarchy’s trans-Atlantic Great Reset conspiracy 👍🙂
A strong US Empire will keep the bread & circuses coming to the US citizenry, despite the hollowed out working man’s institutions (from infrastructure to healthcare & education & everything else).
Meanwhile, here on the periphery, I have even more hope, today, for my sons’ future marriage & employment prospects in Japan than I did 10 years ago in 2015.

Despite 40 years of decline, Japan is still more functional today (infrastructure & institutions) than my USA was 40 years ago in 1985 (!!!) … Crossing my fingers that when Great Depression 2.0 hits us that Japan will handle it better than the motherland.
When the destruction is deliberate, engineered, intentional and planned/executed and staged carefully, globally as part of "the great reset" it is apparent that the sock puppets-with-titles who occupy place of "leadership" are complicit in the suffering and denial of basic human dignity to "citizens". They are evidencing for us what their priorities truly are -- to facilitate in the most expeditious manner possible, the unraveling of civilization for anyone not in the "elitist" class -- for this is if nothing else a class war to secure permanent and lasting confiscation of all wealth, rights and freedoms from the slave class and to provide it to the would=be ruling class (those who control the puppets we see). This is not accidental, the result of bad decisions, or even incompetence -- it is not "nature" trying to get even and it is not "an unfortunate set of coincidences" all congealing and being manifested simultaneously. The architects of the "hard times" that have visited us and our counterparts throughout the world are engaged in transforming all things to suit the vision of the satanic, synthetic, tyrannical, singularly evil global governance apparatus, and we are incidental and even detrimental except for their ability (which they've nearly completed and are testing now) to turn us into nodes on the vast human mesh network -- the internet of bodies, of things - the WBAN, the "HIVE MIND" or "UNIVERSAL BRAIN" the "COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE" so they can harvest our bioenergy, use our DNA (antennae for exploitation for data processing) and our unused brain cells to ENHANCE and complete their otherwise unwieldy and insufficient artificial intelligence constructs and give to them the power they desperately wish for them to have so they can transform this into the dystopian panopticon they have longer for and desired as servants of the evil one and those depraved and synergistically linked to all that is anti=God, anti-Human and anti-life. The global death cult has declared war on us and are in the process of completing their 5th generation assault on everything we depend upon and need for independence and sovereignty of body, mind and environment. When food is part of our sustenance and the source of our being able to be perpetuated and nourished, to remain strong and decisive, it is obviously a primary target for transition to the synthetic world they have built for us to inhabit as cyborgs and transhumanist slaves. Susan, I would normally agree but this time the dynamic has changed. It is already appearing on social media, and I am not a follower of social media but I am being sent snippets from FB etc. where people are already talking about, if on Nov. 1st their SNAP and EBT cards do not work they will begin stealing grocery carts from people in the parking lots of grocery stores, as they go to their vehicles, so that they or their families will not miss a single meal. Say what?
This makes the 9 meals/72 hours scenario obsolete if this happens. In states like AZ, NM, TX, LA, AR, primarily the southern tier of mostly conservative states, people will be shot in parking lots trying to steal food. This is no less than insanity to think that people feel that they have "earned" the right to not miss a single meal simply because they hold a piece of plastic. I guess we just wait and see and hope cooler heads, or stomachs, prevail.
Such an interesting parallel with the end of the Roman Empire. The evidence of Bones etc , suggests that for many this end meant improvements in health. This is because the peasants stopped eating grain , the currency of Rome and returned to farming and eating more protein.
I can’t see that happening in America , as has been said before we are only 9 meals away from anarchy ….
