Not so actually. Organic Self Sustainable Food Production doesn’t require the use of fertilisers, neither does Bush Tucker Plant Food Production,no Farmers as such, required either.

Interestingly our local council (Lancashire) has just delivered food waste bins to start collecting in April. Judging by the number of discarded bins around the streets on my litter pick today, it's not that popular. They'll even accept meat and dairy scraps, which means they are hot composting on an industrial scale. Great, the parks department will welcome it. And they'll get a nice side hustle selling bags of compost back to people at the council tip. :)

I won't be joining in, although the free compost caddy is very welcome. I've been composting my food scraps for years, that go in my compost bins at the allotment, so I'll continue to generate my own free compost rather than buying my food waste back as it were.

But given the international fertiliser shortage that is about to land on our heads, it's a timely introduction, and reminder that we should all be composting anyway.

"And the second order is where empires actually fall." Yup, exactly. Look over here. Look over here. No!, don't look over there. You guys are so going to be able to say, "Well, we told you so!". Great stack, as always.

Russia has lots of gas and produces lots of fertilizer. In fact, the Russians regularly give tens of thousands of tons of fertilizer to poorer countries and even pays for the shipping. Man, those sanctions are looking really good right now.

I hate to be the fly in the ointment, but has the world forgotten what manure is meant to be used for?... The biggest problem civilization currently faces is not war, and it's certainly not a disruption to the petroleum industry... It's the corporatization of our global food supply... Buy some chickens and raise them for food and to fertilize the small backyard garden that one should be growing... If raising and growing food isn't realistic, then join a food bank or form relationships with independent farmers as a source of healthy food... Whatever it is that one can do... DO SOMETHING to stop being such pitiful slaves to modernization and the factors that seek to control every aspect of our lives, including what we eat.

There is not enough manure. Full stop.

Also, 85% of people are incapable, and by this I mean either incompetent, or hampered without room or time to grow consistently enough food to make a meaningful impact. I have seen too many people think they were going to just raise some hens, and grow a garden to give up when it didn't rain, or weasels break into the hen house. That's not to discourage people from having a garden if they can, But most people should be prepared to be disappointed when reality hits home.

Perhaps you should read my FULL comment, instead of making excuses... the world is full of excuses... of course, some would prefer to remain slaves... because it's easier... It's always easier to be either too lazy or too stupid to take responsibility for oneself.

Some of my drive was in the beautiful Devon countryside Anthony. The signs about no HGV fuel was on a Motor way.

The supply chain will be the first to be hit hard... It's the same old song and dance being replayed by our would-be rulers.
