It is just another form of the tail wagging the dog.

The idea is to build narrative.

It is quite easy to do in popular media. You don't have to wait for an "important issue" to arrive to drive the political landscape in the direction you want. You merely decide on the outcome you want and then create all the trappings for leading people to the conclusion you desire.

Watch the propaganda surrounding climate change. Look at how many times that they use cooling towers as stand in proxies for pollution. Since many pollutants are not visible, you can just wait for the right atmospheric conditions to have condensation to create the illusion of poisons being belched out of a smokestack. Then it can take on a life of its own such as the phenomenon of the contrails of jets being some covert activity to modify the atmosphere.

I know someone who would really like living at the White House. She wouldn't have to be shipped off like Biden's Shepherd.

Well, except for the whole helicopters landing on the lawn. She doesn't like loud noises.

She would be a great First Pooch!

Journalism has gone to the dogs. They watch too much TV I guess.

I can't comment on the content of the Netflix show but since it's fictional, and "entertainment" for the armchair critics, it's probably not useful as a source of policy.

It sounds to me like propaganda and indoctrination and the talking heads have swallowed that kool aid.

Excellent article on the madness of how politics and entertainment are entwined. Having watched Adolescence, I am puzzled by all the hype. It’s a drama about victims , is this the message they want us all to consume , especially the young ?

Yes they definitely want us all to feel like victims!
